The Hastings Group, founded in 1993, is a nationally recognized, specialized recruiting firm, servicing the needs of client companies within the food industry. Our firm handles searches for all technical positions including product development, research, quality control, chemistry, microbiology, process development, engineering and production as well as the sales/marketing and executive positions. Our clients' names can be found listed among the top 100 food companies in the United States.

Our firm is made up of two professional search specialists, Nancy Hastings and Rich Doremus, backed by a network of dedicated recruiters. Our strength is that we are professionals in the food industry, not just recruiters who have chosen the food industry as a target market. During our years in the industry, we have developed a strong group of close contacts as well as an understanding of position requirements. We have been responsible for the staffing of large technical departments and we know how to locate and identify individuals with specific credentials and experiences.

Nancy Hastings, President and founder, has a technical undergraduate degree and an MBA from Loyola College of Baltimore. She has been in the food industry since 1975. Her experience includes quality control at the plant and corporate levels as well as product management, marketing, public relations, and advertising. She is a professional member of the Institute of Food Technologists, American Oil Chemists' Society and AOAC International.

Rich Doremus, Partner, has a Bachelors Degree with a dual major in chemistry and business administration from Rutgers University. His thirty years of food industry experience began in quality control. However, Rich spent most of  his career in flavor, seasoning, and ingredient product development and applications. He has hired and managed technical professionals in quality assurance, research and development, and operations. He is a professional member of the Institute of Food Technologists, American Association of Cereal Chemists, International Society of Beverage Technologists, and a certified member of the Society of Flavor Chemists.
